We had just ordered pizza so me and my 2 children were waiting for it to arrive so we could eat dinner and watch a movie together. I was trying to console them because me and my girlfriend for 3 years had just broken up the prior evening. She and her mother had spent nearly 4 hours removing some of her possessions the night before and had really upset the children with their behavior. When it got to be so late I asked them to "wrap it up" because of the hour and the fact that they were keeping the children up with their noise. Before leaving I told them that they would have to wait til Saturday to get the rest of her stuff because it was really upsetting them & they were going to be gone to their mother's house, as they do every weekend. On the evening of the 6th, while waiting for our supper to arrive, my then ex girlfriend, along with her sister, mother and another lady showed up unannounced with a police officer demanding I let them all in so she could retrieve the rest of her stuff that consisted of a futon, dresser & other large objects. I informed the officer that I had told her & her mother that they weren't allowed to come back until Saturday, while the children would be gone to their mother's house. The officer immediately got very loud, telling me that I had better get my ass out of their way or he was going to arrest me & call DCS. I was shocked! I really didn't expect that reaction from an officer of the Kingsport City Police department. I asked him what he going to charge me with & why he would call DCS, that me & my children were about to eat supper and minding our own business. He said that he was going to charge me with disturbing the peace & call DCS because there wasnt going to be anybody there to watch them after he hauled my "ass" in. So I asked him if he had a warrant to enter my house and he said he didn't. At this point I wasn't going to allow anybody, especially this cocky officer, to come in my house because they were all acting aggressive, cursing and threatening me while standing behind the officer. So then I asked him politely to leave my property and that they could return on Saturday after the kids were gone. The officer then put his foot inside my house because he could tell that I wanted to close the door and walk away. He then looked at me and said, "Go ahead! Close the door, I dare you! I'll arrest you for assualting an officer!" I made it a point to remain calm this whole time, never raising my voice even though I was being yelled at by 4 women and a police officer because he had already threatened to arrest me for disturbing the peace. They were making so much noise that the neighbor next door came outside and watched the whole ordeal. I then told the officer that he was tresspassing by placing his foot inside my house and that they all needed to leave. I offered to bring the futon and anything else they wanted outside myself. But he refused. He then said that if I didn't get out of their way and leave the property that he would place me under arrest, again! During this whole time all 4 women were fussing & yelling at me saying that they were going to have me arrested for not letting them in, while the officer still had his foot inside my house. I then told him that I was calling my attorney, so I did. My attorney, over speaker phone tild the officer that without a warrant that he nor the women were allowed to enter the residence and that they would be allowed to come back at a later date that we both agreed apon. After about 10 more minutes of them all fussing, argueing & making a scene for the whole neighborhood to watch, the officer told the ladies, "Come on ladies, I'll take you down to the justice center so you can place felony theft chearges on him." I said, "That's rediculous! They can come back after the kids are gone. I'm just not going to have this drama around my kids!" So as they were walking away the officer said, "You wait and see! I'll be back and if you don't let me in then I'll be hauling your ass of to jail!" So I said, "That's fine, as long as you have a search warrant." He took a couple of steps, said "F%*# you!" turned around and as I was closing my door he ran up & kicked my door, ran inside my house and started assaulting me! I just covered up my head because he kept hitting me. He then started yelling at me to put my hands behind my back, which I did. But he wouldn't stop hitting me! So everytime I put my hands behind my back he would take my head and slam it up against my wall. Finally I yelled out, "I'll put the cuffs on myself if you'll just stop!" This whole time my 9 year old daughter was screaming and crying, begging for him to stop hitting her daddy. He realized that the neighbor was still watching and had actually ran over to get my daughter and son so he stopped, put the cuffs on me and placed me under arrest. It wasn't until I was being booked that I found out that he had charged me with disorderly conduct & resisting arrest. I'm still in a state of shock over all of this. I just can't believe that a Kingsport City officer did this to me & my children! My daughter is absolutely terrified of police officers now! I went to my arrainment the next morning and I have to go back to court to face these false charges on November 16th.

Re: Misty, Kerri & Dubya. He said that its purpose was to cut out the background noise (e.g. from the crowd in Grant Park) that prevented the interviewer and interviewee from hearing each other clearly.

Now, take a moment to think about that explanation. Why would the use of a hologram (as opposed to a conventional 'on screen' interview) make any different whatsoever to the sound?

I have a soft spot for CNN. But this really was a classic case of a network assuming that its viewers were severely stupid.

Re: So long, and thanks for all the fish

See you in a few weeks! :)

I'm sure after that early test Biden spoke about, you'll be back! :P

Re: So long, and thanks for all the fish

I'm breaking away from my post-election vacation here in southern Spain to wish you well for your hiatus.
